Actor Kristoffer “Ian” de Leon, the son of showbiz veterans Christopher de Leon and Nora Aunor was praised and being hailed as hero after rushing a 10-year old boy to a hospital when he was hit by a motorcycle while riding his bike last Monday.
The 10-year old boy was biking on Aguirre Avenue, Paranaque City when he was hit by a motorcycle on the evening of March 21.
In a Facebook post, the mother of the boy named Kristine Madrigal Sarmiento expressed her gratitude to Ian, who rushed her son to an emergency room after the incident.
In a phone interview with Kristine on GMA News Online, she said that though her son was calling for help, bystanders and pedestrians just passed by and just looked at the bloody and helpless son who was alone when the incident happened.
Ian witnessed the event unfold from a nearby Shakey’s and went out to attend the boy. Ian carried him to his car and drove him to the Las Pinas Doctors Hospital. Ian had managed to go after the rider who hit the boy and had held him at Robinsons Place Las Pinas.

At the hospital, Ian stayed with the boy until members of the family arrived. He also helped tend to the boy’s wounds. When they arrived, Ian left to talk to the rider back at Robinsons Place.
Kristine asked for help in contacting Ian to personally thank him. According to her: “Such kindness should be emulated by everyone. Not many good Samaritans around anymore.”
Kristine was able to speak with the rider who hit her son. He was a security guard working in Makati. He apologized to Kristine and she accepted the rider’s apology.
The boy is under observation and currently recuperating following a major surgery.
Kristine said she has gotten in touch with Ian but she prefers to meet him privately, to personally thank him for his deed.
