Gloc-9 Releases Official Statement for His Performances at Binay’s Proclamation Rally

Gloc-9, the award-winning rapper earned a lot of negative comments on his performance at Binay’s Easter Sunday sortie in Cavite and at the proclamation rally in Makati of Abby Binay, a Makati representative who is running for the mayoralty seat.

In those two occasions, Gloc-9 performed “Pareho Tayo”, a new song he released in January and was acquired by the Binay campaign in early February. Gloc-9 clarified he is not endorsing Vice President Binay as his presidential candidate.

The lyrics of the song “Pareho Tayo” echo Binay’s claim of affinity with the poor despite being accused in anomalous transactions during his long reign as Makati mayor.

Gloc-9 is known for his fast flowing vocal style and socially conscious lyrics and singing the hit “Upuan” with denounced political dynasties. In 2010, “Simpleng Tao” by Gloc-9 was used for Manny Villar campaign as acquired through the recording company that owned it.
