4-year Old Boy Has been Sentenced to “Life In Prison” for Murder

An Egyptian military court has reportedly sentenced a 4-year old boy to life in prison after committing murders at the age of two. Ahmad Mansour Karni was convicted in absentia of four counts of murder, eight of attempted murder, vandalizing property, disturbance of peace and threatening police officers.

It is thought that the prosecution made a mistake and instead of writing the name of Sharara’s father, they confused his full name with that of his son.

Defense Lawyer Faisal-a-Sayd was quoted by Jerusalem Post as saying that the child’s birth certificate had been presented to the court but the judge overlooked it. The boy’s father has also been remanded in custody for four months of pending investigations.

“The moment they reached his home, the officers asked for Mr. Karni but his father told them the suspect you’re looking for is a baby. The officer thought the father was poking fun at him and dragged the father to jail, keeping him in custody for four months of pending investigations. He was later released when the judged realized he was innocent, “says Ahmed’s lawyer, Mahmoud Abu Hurira.

Karni pleaded in an interview for authorities NOT to take his son as he cried for justice. “I’m a poor helpless man, the son of this land and I intend no harm to anyone but I have nothing to do with it, “ he cried. I do not want anyone to take my son from me.”

Karni’s lawyer said the case proved “There is no justice in Egypt. No reason. Logic committed suicide a while ago. Egypt went crazy. Egypt is ruled by a bunch of lunatics.” Egyptian courts have increasingly been described as laughable institutions after a blind man received a 15-year sentence for shooting a police officer last year and charges against two Muslim Brotherhood supporters were dropped after the court learned that the pair were already dead.

A photo that was believed to be Karni was widely circulated on social media but turned out to be false. The image was in fact of a Palestinian boy whose home in the West Bank was raided by the Israeli army back in 2013.
