We can’t deny the fact that sometimes parents of newborn babies or infant cannot stop from crying their little ones, probably because the baby is hungry, upset, or in need of a nappy change.
An American pediatrician, Dr. Robert C. Hamilton of Santa Monica, California has been practicing for three decades. He claims to have found a method to instantly calm babies who are upset with a simple “hold” technique. He explains that in his line of work, he often has to talk to parents over screaming babies.
Dr. Hamilton shared “The Hold” on his You Tube channel and in just three days it has been viewed more than one million times.
In the video, the doctor has perfected “The Hold” over the course of his career – a trick he demonstrates to help parents who are struggling to stop their little ones from crying. He then breaks it down the four steps:
1. Fold arms across the chest.
2. Secure the arms gently after they’re folded.
3. Gently grasp diaper area with your dominant hand.
4. Rock the baby up and down at 45-degree angle while shaking their booty.
This hold is ideal for the baby’s first two to three months of age, at which point they’re usually too heavy to be held in such a position.
