Sigbin or Segben is known in the Philippine Mythology as a creature who sucks the blood of their victims from their shadows. They are said to walk along anyone’s backyard heads are lifted down to cover theirselves as they also have the ability to become invisible to any creatures especially to humans which is their main prey and favorite victims.
Sigbin is a nocturnal animal associated with the “aswang” in the Visayas region. These creatures were believed to have been creeping on forest looking for near houses that they could attack. Many people are terrified to see this scary monster that people are always advised to come home early for the safety purposes.
Recently, there is an alleged picture of Sigbin spreading online. It was captured in the Province of Cebu. People immediately cage it and show to the public. Officials from that barangay are giving warn to the people because they believed that some of the members of that Sigbin will come to make revenge and rescue him.

Because of the unusual appearance that they have, people are afraid of this creepy creature. However, there are animal experts and environmentalists who claim that this caged creature is just hairless bear because of the behavior it possesses.
A commenter named Lisa Hartman said, “ It’s a Malaysian sun bear with terrible mange.”
Neil Maceda, another netizen concur the statement of Lisa, “ This is a Poor Sun Bear Cub with Demodectic Mange… The poor creature has been separated from its mother, most likely as she has been killed for her Gall Bladder for her Bile, used in Chinese Medicine.”
