Anja Ringgren Loven is a Danish woman living in Africa. She is a social aid worker and founder of African Children’s Aid Education and Development Foundation to help children that have been labeled as a witch, therefore neglected and even killed by the members of their community.
A starving two-year old Nigerian boy was finally rescued on January 31,2016 by Loven giving him water and biscuits who was left to die of hunger in the streets. This kid is being left for dead by his family because they thought he was a witch.
Seeing the desperate situation of the boy, Loven took him in her arms to be given the proper care. They worked together to restore the boy’s health.
Loven named the little boy Hope. It is a special name for Loven, not only the meaning Hope but what it stands for. She even got the name HOPE tattoed on his fingers because to her it means: Help One Person Everyday.
Fortunately, Hope is now healthy and happier. He responded well to his treatment. He is surrounded by people who care for him at the orphanage.
