Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte Curses North Cotabato Governor for Kidapawan City Incident


Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, a presidential aspirant on May elections had cursed North Cotabato Governor Emmylou T. Mendoza for calling out politicians for allegedly using the Kidapawan incident as a political staging area.

It was reported that Duterte’s supporters tried to donate sacks of rice to farmers who had staged a protest because they had not received government aid.

But Governor Mendoza has implied that the efforts of Duterte’s supporters were just a publicity stunt. She had blocked the said donation. Rice donations from civic groups and celebrities have reached Kidapawan City and reports said that some farmers have gotten rice.

As requested by Mayor Duterte, the Davao City Council approved the released of P31.5 million, which will be used to purchased 15,000 sacks of rice for the farmers of North Cotabato. The farmers have demanded 15,000 sacks of rice before they were violently dispersed.
