Woman In The Philippines Reportedly Gave Birth To A 2-foot Long Snake

A married woman from Korondal City, South Cotobato, Philippines, has reportedly given birth to a 2-foot long snake on Tuesday, February 16, reports Bombo Radyo Koronadal, a local radio station. This "snake child" was not her husband's baby as the father was still in Manila, when she began to manifest pregnancy symptoms.

According to the report based on Bombo Radyo Koronadal's exclusive interview with the woman's parents, the 37-year old woman, whose name is withheld for privacy reasons, already showed symptoms of pregnancy. Seemingly with morning sickness, the woman would frequently vomit and started complaining of stomachache. She also found it difficult to eat because of her worsening condition.

The woman's family had allegedly brought her to three different hospitals yet her conditioned remained undiagnosed and untreated.

The woman later confirmed that she was pregnant after undergoing pregnancy test and ultrasound scans in the hospital. However, doctors were unable to verify if the woman was indeed carrying a child since its shape was unusual and had a long body - not a typical shape of a regular fetus.

Fearful for their daughter's life, the woman's parents decided to bring her to several faith healers. However, out of 7 faith healers, only one claimed that he could remove what's inside the woman's womb.

After a month of "treatment" with the faith healer, the woman experienced contractions and was assisted by a "hilot" (local midwife) while her parents and other relatives gathered around. The woman allegedly gave birth to a creature which looked more like a snake than a baby. This creature was alive at birth, measured around 2-foot long, and allegedly had piranha-like teeth.

Upon seeing the creature, the woman's own mother killed the snake using a sharpened "bagakay" (a thin type of bamboo believe  to fight or counter-act evil and supernatural creatures) . Not content with killing the creature, the woman's mother burned the snake's body.

According to the report, the woman is now recuperating. Many of the locals believe the woman was hexed because there really was no explanation as to why she got pregnant with a snake.
