Rita Gabiola, a 13-year old girl is known as the “Badjao Girl.” She had often seen begging in the streets with her 2-year old sister in the Quezon Province. She had gone viral a few weeks ago because of her natural beauty.
Rita was photographed by Topher Quinto Burgos, a Lucena City-based photographer during the Pahiyas Festival in Lucban town in Quezon Province on May 15. Netizens praised her natural beauty – her brown skin, striking jaw line, high cheekbones, soulful eyes and model-like physique and with some comparing her to local actresses.
Now, “Badjao Girl” was given a makeover and her photos looking like a supermodel was shown on Sunday on ABS-CBN’s “Rated K”, a magazine show hosted by Korina Sanchez. Three photos of Rita were posted on James Christopher Domingo’s personal Facebook page. The photos were taken by Stephen Capuchino and Wilmark Jolidon.
Rita’s father is a fisherman. She has dreams of finishing her studies so that she can help her family.
