“Tamban” Fishes Overflows In Dipolog Pier

The overflowing “Tuloy or Tamban” fishes in Dipolog pier can be considered as blessings for the residents of Barangay Galas in Dipolog City. The people were so happy catching  those fishes. They used  improvised nets, mosquito nets and even pails.

Residents of that barangay had caught tamban fishes not lower than three kilos. Aside from having fish to eat, they were also able to sell those fishes.

According to Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), the overflow of fishes in Dipolog pier had been the result of fish ban of tamban every year from December 1 up to March 1, the breeding period of “tuloy.”

Aside from this, it is also the effect of El Nino that’s why there are so many fishes being caught.
