Davao City Mayor and Presidential candidate of the PDP-Laban, Rodrigo Duterte attended a governance and transparency forum on Friday, March 11 at the University of the Philippines’ Los Banos.
Unlike campaign sorties, not all members of the audience in UP Los Banos are die-hard fans of Duterte. Students flocked to the Davao City mayor but UPLB students reacted differently.

Some questions at UPLB Forum were “a little bit silly” according to Mayor Duterte. For example, one student asks why the guns of the Army in Davao look better than the rest of the soldiers he saw around in Mindanao. I was about to tell him you do not have be a smart aleck. We do not supply the arms of the Army. It’s the Armed Forces of the Philippines [which does that]. They are just deployed in the city by Armed Forces, by the contingencies of the moment. We have nohing to do with the army of anyone here… Ayaw ko naming hiyain.”
His speech is studded with curse words and forceful declarations on his platform. He’s good at making the audience laugh.
