Maine Mendoza, the 21-year old actress who recently received a Best Supporting Actress award at the 2015 Metro Manila Film Festival emerged as winner in the Favorite Pinoy Personality at the 2016 Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards.
The winner was announced earlier today, March 14, at 11:30 a.m. Maine bested celebrities Kathryn Bernardo, James Reid and Enrique Gil for the award. She got the highest number of votes.
Maine Mendoza was not able to get her blimp personally, however, she opted to give a short message to her fans, “I’m away for vacation, maybe this will do, for now. I love you all,” she said.
The winner was dedicated through online voting via the Nickelodeon website, Twitter and Instagram.
On the other hand, Jeron Teng, La Salle Basketball star won Favorite Asian Sports Star. He beat out Pandelela of Malaysia, Kim Kurniawan of Indonesia and Irfan Fandi of Singapore for the award.
