The JS Prom (Junior-Senior) is a much - anticipated event for high school students. This is a formal gathering with boys in tuxedos and girls in stunning dresses with corsages on their wrists. Usually, this is where the boys ask their special someone to be their date to the prom.
During Pia’s #AskMissUniverse Twitter event on Thursday, January 28, a 17-year old Filipino from Texas, named Jerel Labra had the “guts” to ask the Miss Universe 2015, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, to be his prom date on April 23rd.
According to Philippine Star, Jerel started his video by introducing himself and congratulates the beauty queen for winning the prestigious international beauty pageant.
In the 29-second Video clip, Jerel said “ I may not be as handsome as James Franco or as funny as Seth Rogen, or maybe as ripped as Channing Tatum, but I can say this, I am a runner-up. This is my question for you. Pia will you go to prom with me on April 23rd?”

Apparently, the Pinoy Teen’s video of his “promposal” caught the attention of the 26-year old Filipina beauty queen.
Pia, on the other hand responded and appreciated the gesture. She answered: “I’d love to go if my schedule permits. So we’ll see. I can’t promise anything yet right now, but your message was really sweet.”

Jerel expressed gratitude to Pia for noticing his proposal, adding he was hoping the Miss Universe would make it to their date.
“Thank you for your reply Pia! I hope you can make it, but please make time for it! Excited na ko”, Jerel tweeted.
Jerel also posted a video of himself working out in the gym, saying Pia’s reply inspired him to be more physically fit.
“When @Miss Universe @Pia Wurtzbach gives me that inspiration to work out harder at the gym,”he said.
