Wolf Eel or Anarrhichthys Ocellatus, it is neither a wolf nor an eel. It is in fact, a fish with the face of a wolf and the body of an Eel. Scot Reid says "They've got faces only a mother could love," They will be found in shallow water to a depth of 226 meters. Their life span is 25 years and can be found commonly to this places, Pacific coast of North America from northern Baja California to Kodiak Island, Alaska, west to Russia and south to Sea of Japan.

Though they have unusual, creepy and fearsome appearance, but to tell you the truth, this wolf eels are gentle and friendly creatures. They like to hide that's part of what they do. They're not out there to be seen.

Young Wolf Eel feed on plankton while adults eat crabs, clams, sea urchins, mussels, sand dollars, and snails. Normally wolf eels length is 1.2 meters but Hiroshi catches nearly 2 meters long. He said that going to Hokkaido twice within three months was worth it. This Enormous Wolf Eel was caught in the water of Hokkaido Island near the Fukushima nuclear power plant disaster.
